9th November 2005 - ALL BLACKS PRESENTED WITH SPECIAL TYRCONNELL SINGLE MALT IN DONEGAL

Two of Ramelton, a small town in the North of Ireland, famous sons did great things. Dave Gallaher left Ramelton in 1878 and became a legend in world rugby. Andrew Watt left Ramelton in 1762 and founded Andrew A. Watt in Derry which became the largest whiskey distillery in these islands producing the wonderful Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

Today John Teeling, Chairman of Cooley Distillery (the award winning boutique Irish Distillery who revived this historic Irish whiskey brand) presented specially prepared bottles of Tyrconnell Single Malt to members of the All Blacks team. John Teeling, a long time rugby player himself said “It gives me the greatest pleasure together with Letterkenny RFC to present these bottles of Tyrconnell Single Malt to each visiting member of the All Blacks team here in Donegal to commemorate the birthplace of one of the greatest All Blacks.

To help the Irish Team on Saturday I am delighted to invite the entire All Blacks team to our distillery in Cooley where they can spend the next two days sampling our 20 million bottles of whiskey. I guarantee to some how get them to Lansdowne Road by Saturday.
